In answer to the question on Quora.com: “Is there a different standard of law and Department of Justice media treatment for Hillary Clinton?”
Of course there is. She is held to a much higher standard of behavior than virtually anyone else in public life.

The manufactured scandal over her use of a private email server while she was secretary of state is just one case in point. Both of her Republican predecessors at State, Condoleezza Rice and Colin Powell, routinely used an email server based in their homes. There never was and isn’t now any uproar over that. And Mrs. Clinton’s home and her personal server were and remain under the constant protection of the Secret Service. Like every other political adversary, when FBI Director Comey couldn’t get her on anything he resorted to character assassination in order to temper the disappointment of his own keepers. (Apparently that didn’t work for him either.)

Hillary Clinton is a lousy campaigner. She doesn’t know how to inspire or rally people; all she’s got going for her is a history of brute competence. When reporters ask her questions she goes out of her way to be precise. Rather than say she’ll never lie to us she will go into a detailed explanation of under what circumstances she might at some future date say something that is not quite accurate. I don’t know whether she realizes it, but that’s what she’s referring to when she says that watching her husband campaign was like watching poetry. Her public discourse is so full of caveats and qualifiers in a painful attempt to be scrupulously accurate that everything she says sounds like it’s a lie - or ought to be. It’s like having Ruth Bader Ginsburg try to get elected to office.

She will make an outstanding president, but I doubt she’ll have any fun doing it. I just hope she finds a competent speechwriter who understands story structure and knows enough to cross out her “corrections.”
